Quadratic exponential vectors

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a quadratic exponential vector with test function in L2(Rd) ∩ L∞(Rd). We prove the linear independence and totality, in the quadratic Fock space, of these vectors. Using a technique different from the one used in [2], we also extend, to a more general class of test functions, the explicit form of the scalar product between two su...

Exponential Stability Analysis via Integral Quadratic Constraints

The theory of integral quadratic constraints (IQCs) allows verification of stability and gain-bound properties of systems containing nonlinear or uncertain elements. Gain bounds often imply exponential stability, but it can be challenging to compute useful numerical bounds on the exponential decay rate. This work presents a generalization of the classical IQC results of Megretski and Rantzer [1...

Discounted Linear Exponential Quadratic Gaussian Control

We describe a recursive formulation of discounted costs for a linear quadratic exponential Gaussian linear regulator problem which implies time-invariant linear decision rules in the innnite horizon case. Time invariance in the discounted case is attained by surrendering state-separability of the risk-adjusted costs.

Exponential localization of singular vectors in spatiotemporal chaos.

In a dynamical system the singular vector (SV) indicates which perturbation will exhibit maximal growth after a time interval tau . We show that in systems with spatiotemporal chaos the SV exponentially localizes in space. Under a suitable transformation, the SV can be described in terms of the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation with periodic noise. A scaling argument allows us to deduce a universal ...
